Within the area of Hannover, several memorial sites dedicated to the victims of Nazi Germany can be found.

Both the State Capital Hannover and the Hannover Region attach great importance to the remembrance of the crimes committed between 1933 and 1945.

So far, 453 memorial stones for the victims of National Socialism have been laid at their last places of residence in the area of the City of Hannover.
