1st Symphony Concert

To kick off the season, pianist Claire Huangci will perform Liszt's second piano concerto at the symphony concert of the Lower Saxony State Orchestra on 15 and 16 September in the opera house.

Claire Huangci

The works featured in this concert programme are distinguished by dense, substantial sounds which remain limitless and expansive at the same time. They thus open all our senses, allowing us to continue to explore the infinite possibilities of this music in our minds. In Franz Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 2 we can follow the trace of an idea that seemingly never wants to end, that superbly develops on and on. This musical principle is a direct connection to Hector Berlioz who was a great admirer of Liszt’s. This form of spiritual association with earlier idols, something that we all yearn for from time to time, was also what Anton Bruckner was searching for in his large-dimensioned Symphony No. 7.
