      Cycling is one of the many sports offered by the Centre for University Sport

      The Centre for University Sport Hannover (ZfH) at the Leibniz University of Hannover organises an extensive programme of more than 90 different sports and physical activities including acrobatics, basketball and judo, for example.

      Cooperation contracts with universities and colleges

      All members and employees of the universities and colleges that have signed up to the cooperation agreement are entitled to participate in the ZfH's range of activities. These are the Leibniz University, the University of Veterinary Medicine, the Medical School, the Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts, the University of Music, Drama and Media as well as the Business School. An identification card must be presented as proof of membership. The ZfH regularly organises sports festivals, as does the Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts which also has its own sporting programme with activities such as beach volleyball or table tennis.

      Prerequisite: Membership of national squad

      The working group has attracted two sponsors with the Lower Saxony Lotto Sport Foundation and the Neue Presse Sporting Foundation; these help to retain the attractiveness of Hannover as a place to study and practise elite sport. In order to qualify for sponsorship, it is necessary to be a member of a national squad in an Olympic sporting discipline.
