Just this year in January Herrenhausen Palace, the summer residence of the Royal House of Hannover, was rebuilt and reopened. Six modern seminar rooms, one auditorium, two rooftop pavilions and a ceremonial hall with a view onto the Great Garden hide behind the historic façade.
To gather venues and organisers, the Locationportale GmbH from Hannover provides the "Location Award" once a year since 2010. This year 342 locations from all over Germany submitted an application and 30 were nominated in ten different categories. A neutral jury of experts subsequently chose the winners of each category.
Herrenhausen Palace won through locations in Munich and Brühl. For the first time the award presentation took place on the Expo timber roof in Hannover. From 2010 to 2012, the ceremony was held at different locations in Berlin.
