The ecological industrial park is intended to be a platform for the settlement of innovative Chinese and German companies and research establishments, as Mr. Wang, the Deputy Mayor of Qingdao, explained. With 8.5 million inhabitants, the coastal metropolis situated in eastern China maintains diverse relations with Germany and wishes to explore the possibility of cooperation in the spheres of business and science in Hannover as well.
The reception for the Chinese delegation was hosted by Mayor Hermann and First City Councillor Ms Tegtmeyer-Dette and attended by representatives from the fields of business and commerce and from the University of Hannover. It is intended to resume the dialogue during the CeBIT trade fair in March 2015; China is the flagship fair’s official Partner Country this year.
