Running the marathon

The starting signal for the marathon is given in front of the New Town Hall. The Trammplatz in front of it is at the same time the destination of the big round, which takes runners from Hanover and far beyond past the city's most beautiful squares. Last year, the more than 21,000 participants were cheered on and supplied with drinks by around 200,000 spectators along the streets of Maschsee and in the city centre or in the Herrenhäuser Gardens.

Marathon, Nordic Walking or would you prefer a fun run?

In addition to the marathon over the full distance of just over 42 kilometres, there is also a half marathon over 21 kilometres, a 10-kilometre run, competitions for inline skating, handbiking, walking and Nordic walking as well as a children's run and a fun run.
